2012 Ranger football schedule released

ALVA, Okla. - Head football coach Alan Hall and athletic director Andy Carter are pleased to announced the 2012 football schedule.

The Rangers will play 11 contests, five of which will be at Ranger field.

Northwestern will open up the season on Thurs., Aug. 30 with future conference foe Ouachita Baptist with a 7 p.m. contest in Arkadelphia, Ark.

The Rangers will open up their home slate nine days later with a Saturday contest against Colorado State-Pueblo with 6 p.m. being the scheduled kickoff time.

After the home opener the Rangers, will play four straight weeks on the road.with the first of those games coming at Truman State (Missouri).

The Rangers will travel to San Antonio, Texas on Sat., Sept. 22 to take on Division I Texas-San Antonio, who is playing its final season in the Western Athletic Conference and coached by former University of Miami (Fla.) coach Larry Coker.

Northwestern will conclude its four-game stretch with two Saturday contests, one in Russellville, Ark. against Arkansas Tech and the other in Ada against East Central.

The 13th of October will be the homecoming game at NWOSU as the Rangers will take on Southeastern Oklahoma with 3 p.m. as the scheduled kickoff time.

The following week the Rangers will take on Oklahoma Panhandle. On Sat., Oct. 27, the United States Air Force Academy junior varsity team will come to Alva for a 5 p.m. contest. It will be Armed Forces Appreciation Day at Ranger Field.

NWOSU will close its home slate with a Nov. 3 game against Southern Nazarene. Kickoff is scheduled for 2 p.m., and it will be Ranger Preview and Senior Day.

The Rangers will close their season with a 3 p.m. contest at Arkansas-Monticello on Saturday Nov. 10.
