Selina Lamar-White

Selina Lamar-White played a pivotal role in establishing the Ranger Women’s Soccer Program as its first-ever signee. She competed as a defender for the Rangers from 2001 to 2004. Following her successful playing career, Lamar-White contributed to the program as an assistant coach from 2005 to 2009. Lamar-White is described as the type of player on which a program is built.
As a defender for the Rangers, Lamar-White played in all 80 games during her collegiate career. This record ties the program’s career record for most games played as a defender. She also matches the single season record for most games played in a season with 21 appearances. During her time with the Rangers, Lamar-White contributed four goals, including one game-winner and three assists. She was a key player in organizing the defense, making countless blocks and initiating transitions into attack. Lamar-White was named to the Sooner Athletic Conference (SAC) First Team All-Conference in 2003 and 2004. She earned SAC Defensive Player of the Year honors in 2004, was selected to the NAIA Region VI First Team All-Region in 2003 and 2004, named NAIA Region VI Defensive MVP in 2004, and received NAIA Honorable Mention All-American recognition in both 2003 and 2004. Lamar-White earned two degrees from Northwestern, graduating in 2005 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration in E-Commerce. She lives in Shepherd, Texas, with her husband, Cedric White, and their three children: Brayden, Brooklyn, and Briley. She serves as a computer applications and career exploration teacher.
