Volleyball Battles Southern Arkansas To Five Set Victory

ALVA, Okla. - Northwestern Oklahoma State Volleyball was able to outlast the Muleriders of Southern Arkansas in a five set battle in Percefull Fieldhouse early this afternoon by a final score of 3-2.

Individual Leaders

Natalie Fahey led the black-and-red in overall kills with 14 total. Asia Pipkin also added 13 kills for the Ranger offensive attack.
Hannah Williams aided the defensive effort by adding four total blocks for the home team.
Carley Geer also powered the defense to victory behind her 20 digs.
Fahey was the overall leader in the match for hitting percentage as she posted an overall statline of .296.

Game Changer

Northwestern and Southern Arkansas traded set victories in this match heading into the fifth set, as the Rangers would win sets two and four and the Muleriders took sets one and three.
The black-and-red won set four decisively by a final set score of 25-7, giving them the momentum heading into the fifth set.
The Rangers were able to put together a 4-0 run against SAU in the final set but the Muleriders answered right back with a 5-0 run of their own late in the set.
A kill by Fahey gave the black-and-red the advantage and Northwestern closed out the match on an attack error by Southern Arkansas to seal the contest for the home team.

News & Notes

This was the fourth straight victory for Northwestern and the fourth straight victory over a Great American Conference opponent.
The Rangers now have an overall home record of 4-1 and now post a winning record in conference play at 4-3.
