Northwestern Drops Home Contest Against Savage Storm

Location: Percefull Fieldhouse - Alva, Okla. 

ALVA, Okla. - Northwestern Oklahoma State was taken down by Great American Conference opponent Southeastern Oklahoma State Saturday afternoon by a final score of 71-63.


Individual Leaders
  • Leading the offensive unit this afternoon for the Rangers was Micaela Yu who finished the contest with a game high 17 points. Yu also led the black-and-red on the glass as she was able to pull down eight total rebounds
  • Kamera Bozeman also put in a solid offensive day for Northwestern as she totaled 15 points, shooting 6-8 from the field. Bozeman had a strong performance on the defensive side of the ball as well, recording four blocks. 
  •  Ashley Pride and Jaylan Robinson each were able to score in double figures for the Rangers in the match-up as Pride totaled 11 points and Robinson netted 10. Pride also led the home team with a game high seven assists. 
     
Game Changer
  • The black-and-red opened up the match-up firing out of the gates but the Savage Storm would stage a quick comeback to take the lead by one point at 13-12 by the end of the first quarter. Northwestern was able to reclaim some of the momentum as the home team went on to lead at the half, 23-22.
  • The Rangers went on a tear in the third quarter scoring 28 total points to propel them to a 51-42 leading heading into the fourth and final quarter of play. 
  • Southeastern would not go away however as the Savage Storm came roaring back in the fourth quarter, going on a 13-0 run to open the period. 
  • SOSU was able to close the ball game out ultimately as they would knock down free throws and claim the victory against Northwestern, 71-63.
