ALVA, OKLA. - Northwestern Oklahoma State Volleyball was defeated by Arkansas Tech University by a final score of 3-1 (15-25, 25-20, 15-25, 19-25 ).
Individual Leaders
- Asia Pipkin led the way for the Rangers with eleven kills and also led the Rangers with a .400 hitting percentage.
- Vanessa Maile and Cassidy Hackett both provided 14 assists to lead the Rangers in the category.
- Carley Geer led the defensive effort for the Rangers with 13 digs throughout the match.
Game Changer
- Natalie Fahey knocked down the first kill in the remodeled Percefull Fieldhouse, but the Golden Suns jumped out to a 13-6 lead. Three straight errors by Arkansas Tech brought the score back to 16-12, however the Rangers couldn't capitalize on the mistakes and Tech took the set 25-15.
- Fahey came out and put down two kills to open up the second set of action. Two straight kills from Bailey Cook and then another point from Taylor Hayden extended the Ranger lead to 12-7. Northwestern continued to cruise and extended their lead to 20-14 thanks to another kill by Cook. Tech attempted to recover but Northwestern closed them out 25-20.
- It appeared the Rangers found their groove when they jumped out to an 8-6 lead to begin the third set, however the Golden Suns recovered and jumped ahead 19-15. The visiting team then proceeded to go on a seven point run to end the set, winning 25-15.
- The Golden Suns finished the Rangers off in the final set by a score of 25-19.
