Game Changer
- Northwestern got off to a fast start after Natalie Fahey opened up the contest with two service aces to take a 5-3 lead. However, the Cotton Blossoms answered with an 8-1 run and opened up a solid lead. The Rangers tried to answer late in the set by putting together a 5-2 run, but Arkansas-Monticello ultimately closed out the set with a 25-21 victory.
- The Rangers played arguably their best set of the weekend in the second set. After trailing the Cotton Blossoms by a score of 15-12, Northwestern came out of a timeout and put together four straight points to finally gain the advantage by one point. Both teams traded points back and forth before the Rangers used yet another four point run to open up a 22-19 lead. Unfortunately, the Cotton Blossoms closed out the set on a 6-1 run to take the set 25-23.
- The third and final set would prove to be a rough one for the black-and-red as they found themselves trailing 11-7 early in the set. Three straight Ranger points gained a little momentum for the visiting team, but the Cotton Blossoms ultimately controlled the rest of the ball game and won 25-17.
