ALVA, OKLA. – Northwestern Oklahoma State honored five seniors on senior night before being defeated by rival Southwestern Oklahoma State, 3-0. (23-25, 22-25, 23-25)


Individual Leaders

• Natalie Fahey capped off her career as a Ranger by leading the Rangers with 14.5 kills. Hayley Brattain was next in line for the Rangers with 13.5 kills during her final match for the black-and-red.
• Asia Pipkin filled up the stat sheet, as she has done throughout her four-year career, with nine digs, three aces, and eight kills.
• Carley Geer continued her solid play on the back row of defense for the Rangers with 14 digs.

 
Game Changer

• SET 1 – Following the senior night ceremonies, action got underway in Percefull Fieldhouse in a re-match of a down to the wire match last season in Alva. The bitter rivalry got off to an exciting start as the Rangers scored the first three points in the set and maintained a lead all the way until the 15-15 mark. The Bulldogs eventually closed the set with a 25-20 victory, but the stage was set for another exciting rivalry match.
• SET 2 – The second set began with neither team able to build any sort of major lead until the Bulldogs built a 23-20 lead late in the set. Brattain gave the Rangers a chance with a big-time kill, but the Bulldogs held off the Ranger comeback, winning the set 25-22.

• SET 3 – The Rangers used the home energy to jump out to a 10-5 lead. Southwestern battled back with some potent offense, but the Rangers maintained a slight lead all the way until the 23-21 mark, where the Bulldogs sealed the match with a 4-1 run.
