OKLAHOMA CITY- Northwestern Oklahoma State Women's Basketball was defeated 91-82 by Mid-America Christian University in non-conference action on Tuesday evening.

The Fast Break

Northwestern Women's Basketball team produced their best performance this season despite being defeated 91-82 by Mid-American Christian University on Tuesday night in Oklahoma City.

The Rangers set multiple season highs, including the most points they've scored in a ball game to date, as well as the best field goal percentage they've had as a team at 38.6 percent. Guard Kalea King also set a new season high for individual points for the Rangers, as she had 23 on the night, including making all 11 of her free-throws that she attempted.

The Rangers survived an onslaught of points from MACU in the opening quarter to trail just 22-18 at the end of one. Northwestern allowed the home team to lead by no less than five points throughout the entire opening quarter.

MACU came out of the quarter break and capitalized on two free throws after a foul call on junior Jaylan Robinson, only to see the largest lead of the night at six be quickly cut into by a nice jumper from point guard Ashley Pride. Pride followed up her points from the field with two free throws to bring the Rangers within just two points. The Rangers had a solid night as a team from the charity stripe as they shot 80 percent from the line as a team. The Evangels finished out the half on a 16-7 run, leading 42-31 at the break.

MACU continued their efficient play early in the second half, but the Rangers showed resilience with back to back Robinson jumpers. However, Northwestern was unable to find an answer for the MACU offense, as they continued to keep the Rangers in check throughout the quarter, and led going into the fourth quarter by a score of 62-53.

Northwestern used their outstanding team free throw shooting once again to bring the Evangels lead to just 62-57 with 9:30 left in the game. However, an 18-5 run by MACU proved to be enough to keep the Rangers just out of striking distance. The black-and-red hit the final five shots of the game to bring the score to a final of 91-82.

The Rangers will have their home opener at the newly renovated Percefull Fieldhouse on Nov. 28 with tip-off set for 5:30 p.m.
