Individual Leaders
  • Horatio Smith was a monster on the offensive side of the ball as he caught six passes for 141 yards and two touchdowns. He also racked up 50 yards of return yardage, bringing his all-purpose yards for the game to 191.
  • Reid Miller also had an exceptional game as he was 28-of-42 on passing for 400 yards and three touchdowns. Not only did he throw for three touchdowns, but accounted for two more on the ground as well.
  • Jacob Peyton was the work horse for the Rangers on the ground this evening as he rushed for a total of 91 yards.
  • On the defensive side of the ball, Maurice Wright Jr. was a bright spot, recording 10 tackles on the night, two of which were tackles for loss.

Game Changer
  • Ouachita Baptist scored in a hurry in the first quarter, putting points on the board in just over three minutes of play, making it 7-0.
  • Northwestern was just as quick however in getting on the board as Miller scampered for a 16 yard TD run, capping off a six-plays 79 yard drive that lasted just under two minutes.
  • Ouachita had two more scores in the first quarter that put them up two scores, and the Rangers had to play catchup from then on.
  • Early on in the fourth, OUA went up by as many as 21 points, leading 35-14, but two straight scores for the Rangers cut the lead to eight.
  • Perhaps one of the biggest game changers of the night however was after an eight-play, 84 yard drive that resulted in a touchdown, the extra point was blocked for the Rangers, which was tough to swallow in the end.

News & Notes
  • Northwestern actually accumulated more first downs than OUA, edging out the Tigers 22-21 in the category.
  • The Rangers were also 1-of-1 on fourth down conversions.
  • When in the redzone, the Rangers couldn't be turned away as they were 3-for-3 on the night.
