Box Score RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. - Northwestern Oklahoma State volleyball finished up their road swing with a tough 3-0 (18-25, 19-25, 21-25) loss against No. 16 Arkansas Tech.
The Rangers (16-7, 6-3 GAC) battled hard despite the tough competition, as the Golden Suns (23-0, 8-0 GAC) got started early and often and made it difficult for the Rangers to hold pace. Junior
Hannah Williams and
Jennifer Eubanks each totaled nine kills to lead the Rangers offense, with junior
Brooklynn Hesson chipping in seven as well.
Freshman
Kaitlyn Robinson totaled 28 assists and Williams led the defensive effort with 11 digs.
Arkansas Tech started fast in the match, jumping out to a 21-14 lead in the opening set before eventually going up one game to none with a 25-18 victory.
The second set saw the Rangers control the early portions of the match, holding a 12-10 lead early on in the set. A 7-1 run ultimately allowed the Golden Suns to take the second set, 25-19. The third and final set proved to be much of the same, as the home squad continued to roll and took the final set, 25-21.
The Rangers will regroup and get back to the friendly confines of Percefull Fieldhouse to take on Henderson State on Oct. 20 at 6:30 p.m.
