Rangers Sweep Season Series With Aggies in Walk Off Fashion

ALVA, Okla. – Northwestern Oklahoma State took on the Aggies of Oklahoma Panhandle State University in a non-conference mid-week battle. The Rangers would come away with the victory in walk off fashion 6-5.

The Rangers called on Freshman left hander Tyler Havener to the start the game he would go 3.2 innings allowing five runs on four hits. Coach Sam Carel would call on Collin Fouts was called on to relieve Havener in the top of the fourth. Fouts would throw five scoreless innings allowing no runs and no hits. Mathew Bickford came in to close the game for Northwestern and earned the win in the final inning.

Northwestern answered the Aggies third inning run with two of their own after a Colton Krokroskias' RBI ground out and a Steven Deckard double down the left field line. The Rangers would cut the aggie lead to just one in the seventh again off the bat of Deckard who hit a single through the left side of the infield. The Rangers would rally back and tie the game in the eighth after an Aggie error allowed T.J. Kassner to score. Kassner would also score the game winning run in the tenth inning.

Leading the way at the dish for the Rangers was Steven Deckard who went 4-4 with three RBI's. Deckard would increase his batting average to .405 with today's performance.

Sophomore right hander Jeremy Norris got the start for the Aggies. He faced 40 batters allowing four runs on seven hits. He would leave in the bottom of the eighth inning.

The Aggies put the first points on the board with a B.J Henry single up the middle. They would add four more in the top half of the fourth to regain the lead. They would be held
scoreless the rest of the game.

The Rangers will host their Rival from down south Southwestern Oklahoma State for senior weekend starting Friday April 28 at 7 P.M come out and support the seniors.
