Northwestern Oklahoma State University volleyball go down to Ouachita Baptist University after five hard fought sets, losing 2-3 [22-25, 19-25, 25-23, 26-24, 8-15].
The first set started out 4-4, but Ouachita grabbed a two-point lead, which would be enough to keep the black-and-red out of the picture to get the first win of the match. A closely-contested first set went to the Tigers of Ouachita [22-25].
The second set is where the Lady Rangers would be held to a .216 hitting percentage compared to the Tigers .310 percentage. The Tigers would take set two and hold off the Lady Rangers and go up 0-2 in the match.
Lady Rangers would prove that they were not ready to pack up as they went up in the third set 14-9, and gained more momentum through great play from Senior Brooklynn Hesson and Redshirt-Junior Kiauna Clark who each posted four kills respectively. Northwestern slid out with a third set win 25-23.
The fourth set would be come down to the wire just like the third where the black-and-red coming out on top. Kiauna Clark who accumulated a total of six points in this set alone would help guide the team to a set win, as she would score off back-to-back kills to tie the match 2-2.
In the closing set, the Lady Rangers would not be able to match the Ouachita Tigers energy and fall to Ouachita 8-15.
Northwestern's Freshman Dani Dagley posted a career high in digs, as she coasted to a total of 40 digs in five sets, which would tie the school record for most digs in a five set match. Kiauna Clark had a team high with 22 kills as Senior Hannah Williams chipped in 14 kill of her own.
