Arkadelphia, ARKANSAS. - Northwestern Oklahoma State University volleyball lose in three straights sets to No. 2 Henderson State University [17-25, 17-25, 16-25].
In the first set Northwestern would start out on top and Henderson State would tie the game up at 4-4, and keep a comfortable lead on the Lady Rangers throughout the rest of the set. Henderson State would get extend their lead by as much as nine, taking the first set 17-25.
The Black-and-red would have a slow start to the second set, as the Reddies got out to 0-7 lead before Brooklynn Hesson would provide a kill of her team high 11 that would put Northwestern on the board. Northwestern could not build up any momentum to keep Henderson State from stretching their lead, as the Reddies went up 0-2 in the match, winning 17-25.
In what would be the last set, it seemed like the tide would shift for the best, as the Lady Rangers and Reddies would go back-and-forth to start. Tied at 11-11, Henderson State would go on a 0-6 run that would give them enough momentum to close out the set 16-25.
Kaitlyn Robinson would post a match-high 29 assists and Jennifer Eubanks would follow up Hesson with nine kills of her own.
Northwestern Oklahoma State University will continue on the road as they face Southern Nazarene University (13-14, 5-6 GAC) in Bethany, Oklahoma, October 18, at 7 p.m. Northwestern will return to Percefull Fieldhouse October 25, against Oklahoma Baptist University.
