Alva, OKLA. - Northwestern Oklahoma State University volleyball fall to the Golden Suns of Arkansas Tech (14-7, 6-2 GAC) in three straights sets Friday night [13-25,19-25.15-25].
Lady Rangers could not get a firm control of the lead in the first set as Arkansas Tech outside hitters put at stamp on the match right out the gate. Golden Suns senior outside hitter, Hunter Eshnaur, led her team to a first set victory with five kills, winning 13-25.
Northwestern played with tons of energy in the second set, as back-to-back kills from Hannah Williams and Jennifer Eubanks led a 4-1 run to bring the lady Rangers within three points. The Golden Suns kept ahold of the lead, and went on a 0-5 run of their own to put them up 14-21.
Arkansas Tech held their commanding lead to beat the black-and-red in the second set 19-25.
In what would be the final set of the match, the Lady Rangers opened the third set strong, as the game was neck-and-neck, hoping to build some momentum. Junior Jennifer Eubanks led the team with five kills in the third set, yet it was not enough as Northwestern fell 0-3, losing the last set 15-25.
Jennifer Eubanks had a team-high nine kills, hitting at a .600 clip and Kaitlyn Robinson pulled in 22 assists.
Northwestern Oklahoma State University volleyball will host No. 1 in the Great American Conference Harding University (12-6, 7-1 GAC) who are coming off a loss to Southwestern Oklahoma State 3-1 in Weatherford. Northwestern will face harding Saturday at noon in Percefull Fieldhouse.
