Box Score Northwestern Oklahoma State University volleyball finish off their long Arkansas road trip in winning fashion, as they defeat University of Arkansas-Monticello 3-1.
Northwestern needed to come away with a 2-0 weekend to put them up in conference rankings as the season winds down and they did just what Coach Jeremy White needed them to do.
"We really needed to get these two wins for conference placement," White said. "We had some ups and downs but we did a great job of battling through adversity."
Lady Rangers dominated the Blossoms all of their first set, but came up short in the second set because of a few costly mistakes that would result in losing set two. The third set is where the black-and-red turned it on and controlled the rest of the match.
Up 13-11 in the third set, Senior Tobi-Rae Barker sparked a run with a two of her six total services aces that led to a 25-15 victory.
In the fourth set the Lady Rangers came together as a team to finish off the Blossoms.
Redshirt-junior Kiauna Clark led the team with 12 kills and outside hitters Brooklynn Hesson and Hannah Williams followed up with 11 kills respectively.
Northwestern Oklahoma State University will have several days to regroup, as they host Arkansas Tech University (12-7,5-2 GAC) who is currently on a four game winning streak. The game will be at 6 p.m. Friday, October 5, in Percefull Fieldhouse.
