Northwestern Set for two in Arkansas

ALVA, Okla. – After splitting last week's game with a loss to Southwestern (81-76), and a win over Oklahoma Baptist (75-59). The Lady Rangers will enter the week tied for the eighth and final spot with Southern Arkansas for the final spot in the conference tournament that will take place in Bartlesville Oklahoma. This week the team will be traveling to Searcy, Arkansas to take on the Bisons of Harding University, Thursday at 5:30PM and Russellville Arkansas to take on Arkansas Tech, Saturday at 1PM.
 
Northwestern will enter the week with a 9-7 record overall game with a 5-5 Great American Conference record.

The Lady Rangers are led by head coach Tasha Diesselhorst is in her fourth season with Northwestern who led the Lady Rangers to their first conference tournament appearance since joining the GAC last year. She has a 43-61 record here at Northwestern.

The Red-and-Black continue to be led by senior Kalea King, junior Bailey Brown and Senior Jakeria Otey. These three players are the three double digit scorers for Northwestern. Brown averages 14.9 points along with 8.4 rebounds, King 14.4 points with 5.8 rebounds, and Otey scores 11.0 points a game. Brown leads the team in rebounding at 8.4 followed by King, and Hillary Hurst. Kyleigh Leverich leads the team in assists with 53 for 3.3 a game followed by King 35 and Otey with 34. Otey has elevated her game the last two weeks reaching double figures in each of the last four games averaging 17.2 points per game.

Harding : Thursday 5:30pm (9-7, 6-4)

The Lady Rangers will visit the Bisons Thursday evening for conference game number 11 on the season. Harding comes into this game with a 9-7 overall record and 6-4 in conference tied for fourth in the Great American Conference. They come in on a two game winning streak with an overtime win over Arkansas Tech (75-71) and a convincing win over Southern Arkansas (79-59).

Harding is led by head coach Tim Kirby who is coaching his 15th season with the Bisons Has a career record of 271-127 with Harding University.
 
The Bisons are led by Kellie Lampo with 13.4 points a game on 47.5% shooting. She is followed by Carissa Caples at 12.1 points per game, followed by Jordan Elder at 10.7 games and lastly Cheyenne Brown at 10 points per game to finish Harding's four double digit scorers. Lampo is their leading rebounder at 8.1 a game followed by Jackie Evans at 6.1. Peyton Padgett leads them in assists with 65 on the season, followed by Caples at 45 on the season.

Harding is second in the Great American Conference in rebounding bringing down 42 boards a game, including 15.6 offensive rebounds creating a lot of second chance scoring opportunities.
 
Harding is 7-1 overall and 4-1 in conference games while playing at home this season. They average 75 points a game playing on their home floor which is higher than their season average. The Lady Rangers will look to win the first game against the Bisons as Harding leads the series history 14-0 versus Northwestern.

Arkansas Tech Golden Suns: Saturday 1:00 p.m. (4-10, 0-8)

After Thursday's game the Lady Rangers will go from Searcy to Russellville to take on Arkansas Tech. Tech comes into the game 9-5 overall with a 6-4 conference record having them tied for fourth place in the conference.
 
Arkansas Tech's Head Coach is Dave Wilbers who has a 266-66 record with the Golden Suns, along with 157-38 in conference games.

The Golden Suns have four double digit scorers led by Jalei Oglesby who comes in averaging 19 points a game in eight games played this season. She is followed by Ke'Vonshaye Stackhouse at 10.9 a game, Kaley Shipman at 10.7 a game and lastly Hannah Villines at 10.2 a game. Tech's rebounding is led by Oglesby at 6.6, followed by Lycia Peevy 5.7 and Stackhouse at 5.7. Jayana Sanders leaders the team in assists at 67 on the season followed by Kaley Shipman and Peevy 29 and 26 respectively.

Similar to Harding, Arkansas Tech will look to grab the advantage through the rebounds bringing down 45.6 a game which is good for first in the conference in rebounds. They get 14 offensive rebounds a game which is fourth in the GAC.

Arkansas Tech lead the series history 11-1 and are currently on an 11 game win streak after Northwestern won the first ever meeting. The last game played was on the 28th of February where Tech won 70-67 in Tucker Coliseum.
