Lady Rangers Hit the Road for Rivalry Matchup This Evening

ALVA, Okla. – The Lady Rangers are set to compete in a rivalry matchup this evening at Weatherford against the Bulldogs of Southwestern Oklahoma State University. 
 
NWOSU vs. SWOSU will begin at 5:30 p.m. in the Pioneer Cellular Event Center as the Red-and-Black try to snap the eight game losing streak against the Bulldogs, whom they haven't defeated since the 2016-2017 season. 
 
The Lady Rangers enter the GAC contest 3-0 after defeating OPSU, Tabor and Oklahoma Baptist. 
Northwestern Women's Basketball earned their first conference victory of the season on Saturday, Jan. 9 after defeating the Bison of OBU 65-56. 
 
The Red-and-Black travel three players with double digit scoring figures – two averaging double-doubles. Leading the way for Northwestern are Bailey Brown, Mya Johnson and Scout Frame
 
Brown made her season debut against OBU, finishing with 19 points, 12 rebounds and six assists. The last time she faced SWOSU she finished with eight points and six rebounds.
 
Johnson has accumulated 56 points after three games. She's averaging 18.7 points, 10.7 rebounds and a field goal percentage of .794 – shooting 27-of-34. 
 
Frame enters the matchup with 38 points on the season, she's averaging 12.7 a game while shooting .441% from inside. Impressive from the free-throw line, Frame puts in .875% of her free throws.

Southwestern is directed by Kelsi Musick, who is entering her 12th season as Head Women's Basketball Coach. 
 
Musick's team enters the matchup 2-0 overall and in GAC play after defeating East Central 92-77 and Southeastern Oklahoma State 101-64. SWOSU finished on top of the Western Division preseason poll after tying with Southeastern for first place. Both teams received 23 votes and three first place votes. 
 
The Bulldogs are led by Makyra Tramble, Karly Gore and Lauren Ramey. 
 
Tramble, the sophomore from Shawnee, has racked up 55 points after two games. She's averaging a double-double with 27.5 points and 12 rebounds. Tramble shoots .455% from the field and .467% from outside. 
 
Gore, a Division I transfer from Oral Roberts University, averages 15 points and 8.5 rebounds. She's scored 30 points for the Bulldogs so far and is shooting .429% from inside. 
 
Ramey is a junior from Keifer, she's tallied 25 points and is shooting .476% from field goal range. Ramey enters the evening averaging 12.5 points and 4.5 rebounds.
