Lady Rangers vs. Crimson Storm Preview

ALVA, Okla. – Northwestern Women's Basketball will hit the road and travel to Bethany for the first time this season to face the Crimson Storm of Southern Nazarene on Jan. 23, at 2 p.m. 
 
The Lady Rangers enter the contest inside the Sawyer Center 4-3 overall and 2-3 in Great American Conference play.

The Red-and-Black travel to Bethany with three players averaging double scoring figures; Bailey Brown, Mya Johnson and Kaylee Jo Neeley.
 
Brown is shooting 38.9% from the field and averaging a double-double with 14 points, and 10.2 rebounds. She's shooting 79.4% from the free-throw line, putting in 27-of-34. 
 
Johnson averages a double-double with 13.6 points and 10.4 rebounds. She's scoring from inside 69.2% off of 45-for-65 shooting. Johnson has amassed eight blocks after playing seven games. 
 
Neeley, a freshman, steps onto the floor averaging 10 points and 5.5 rebounds. She's shooting 55.6% from inside and 66.7% from the free-throw line.

Southern Nazarene enters the match up winning their previous two contests against the Lady Rangers last season. In Nov. of 2019 – the last time SNU played NWOSU at home, they were victorious by 14 points. 
 
The Crimson Storm are led by three players averaging double-digit points: Cassandra Awatt, Emily Monaghan and Kennedy Gillette. 
 
Awatt is averaging 15.7 points and 9.3 rebounds. She's making 85.7% of her free throws and 33.3% of her shots from inside.
