Alva, Okla- The 2021 Wrangler NFR at Thomas & Mack Center is set to take place in Las Vegas from December 2-December 11th. Northwestern Oklahoma State will be well represented at the NFR this season with seven Northwestern Ranger former rodeo team members competing.

Stockton Graves, current Northwestern Ranger rodeo coach, is the first former Ranger at the NFR qualifiers this year. This is his eighth time qualifying for the NFR. He qualified in 2004-2009, followed by an appearance in 2011 before the 2021 qualification. Graves will look to continue his success in 2021 as he has won the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo, Won the Crossett Riding Club 73rd Annual PRCA Rodeo, Kansas Biggest Rodeo, and Wilson County Pro Rodeo in 2021. His career awards included the Horse Dark Laddy PRCA/AQHA steer wrestling horse of the Year balloting in 2004. The Alva native currently ranks number nine in the world in steer wrestling.

The second Ranger is Cody Devers, who has found a lot of success in 2021 as he won Livingston Roundup Rodeo and won the Wild Bill Hickok Rodeo in Kansas. He was Co-Champion at the Ellensburg Rodeo along with Co-champion at the Santa Rosa Roundup. In the NFR, Deevers will be competing in steer wrestling. The Balko, Oklahoma native, is currently ranked #11 in the world for steer wrestling.

Coleman Proctor will be competing in Team Roping as he is currently ranked 14th in the world for Team Roping (Headers). He won the 2020 RAM Prairie Circuit Finals, the Parker County Sheriff's Posse Frontier days, PRCA Rodeo, and the Mesquite Championship Rodeo and was Co-champion at Nebraska's Big Rodeo. The Pryor Oklahoma native has qualified for the NFR five other times from 2014-2017, 2019 and this being his sixth qualification here in 2021. Â

The next former Ranger qualifier is Cole Patterson will be competing in steer roping. This is his third consecutive year qualifying for the NFR after competing in 2019 and 2020. His 2021 highlights recapping a successful year include: winning the National Circuit Finals Steer Roping, the Sandhills Stock Show & Rodeo, the Atoka Pro Rodeo, Cody Stampede, West of the Pecos Rodeo, Cheyenne Frontier Days, Days 76 Stand Alone Steer Roping, and Gem State Stampede. The Pratt, Kansas native is currently ranked number one in the world in steer roping.

Taylor Munsell is the fifth former Northwestern rodeo member to qualify for the 2021 NFR to compete in Breakaway Roping. This will be Munsell's first year in the NFR qualifications. She was a National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association breakaway champion in 2019. She became the first Northwestern cowgirl to claim a national title in program history in 2019.

Martha Angelone is the next former Ranger to qualify for the NFR. She was a Wrangler NFBR qualifier in 2020. She finished third at the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo. The Stephenville Texas native will participate in her first NFR qualifier this week in breakaway roping.

Jake Long will be participating in his 10th qualifier at the NFR and his seventh consecutive qualifier overall. His first run was from 2010-2012, before getting back to the NFR in 2014 and making it every year since. His 2021 year has been filled with accolades. He has won the San Angelo Rodeo, the Nacogdoches Pro Rodeo & Steer Show, Cody Stampede, Lawton Rangers Rodeo, Horse Heaven Kennewick Round-up, and Evanston Cowboy Days rodeo.
