Alva, Okla – The Lady Rangers snap their three-game losing streak against the Warriors of Bacone College on Tuesday evening with a 96-47 home victory. The Lady Rangers overpowered the Warriors in all four quarters which led to a dominating attack on the offensive and defensive side of the floor. The Rangers jumped out ot an early 20 point lead in the opening quarter and would not look back on.
The Lady Rangers improve on their season to 4-5 following the victory as the Warriors drop to 1-15.
"I thought Kinsey set the tone early by knocking down
some shots. That let everyone relax and just play. It
was good to see Scout get going. I thought she was
more aggressive on the boards than she had been in the
past few games" stated head coach Tasha Diesselhorst
following the Lady Rangers victory.
Scout Frame led the Rangers with 23 points, 12 rebounds, and four assists. Kinsey Neiderer tied the game high in scoring with 23 points, as well finishing with five rebounds, and five assists. Bailey Brown led the team with seven rebounds and six assists on the evening.
First Quarter:
The Lady Rangers came out strong as they went on a 17-0 run in the first quarter to open the game. Neiderer got things started for the Rangers with a three pointer in the opening minute for three of her team leading 12 points in the first quarter all coming from behind the three-point line. S. Frame would have six points on the games opening 17-0 run with Neiderer. Zoe Cornett would hit a three-point shot. A Kynsey Dixon three would push the Rangers lead over 20 with just over a minute to play. Northwestern would lead 26-5 going into the second quarter.
Second Quarter:
Neiderer would help the Rangers open the second quarter with nine consecutive points as she would score the first five of the quarter ofr the Rangers. Neiderer started the second quarter by sinking another three-point shot within the first couple seconds of the quarter. A S. Frame layup would push the Rangers to their frist 30 point advantage of the game at 37-7 on a shot assisted by Brown. Northwestern would then score 8-0 consective points started by a Carly Craig three pointer topped off on a Dixon three to push the Rangers in front 51-10 halfway through the second quarter.
The Rangers led the Warriors 54-19 going into halftime.
Third Quarter:
For the third quarter in a row, Neiderer would start the quarter by sinking a three pointer a she would go back-to-back three-point shots to put the Rangers up an additional six points quickly into the quarter. Shortly after, Lizzie Shephard and Carly Craig would go back-to-back to take a 68-23 lead. S. Frame would then score the next seven points for the Rangers to push the lead to 50 at 75-25.
At the end of the third quarter, the Rangers had an 82-31 lead.
Fourth Quarter:
S. Frame opens up the final quarter with a successful layup, followed by four successful free throws, sinking a total of six points altogether to start the fourth quarter. Carley Badley put up four points in the final quarter, Thomas with four points. Northwestern snapped their losing streak with a 96-47 victory over the Warriors on Tuesday evening.
The Rangers will return home on Saturday, Dec. 18th for the women's game set to tip-off beginning at 1 PM and the men's at 3 PM as they continue conference play against Southeastern Oklahoma State University.
