Lady Rangers Will Host SNU This Afternoon

ALVA, Okla. – Northwestern Women's Basketball will be back in action this afternoon against Southern Nazarene University. Tip-off is at 2 p.m. inside Percefull Fieldhouse against the Crimson Storm. 
 
On Jan. 23 the Lady Rangers traveled to Bethany for the first time this season and finished behind SNU, 66-90. Kaylee Jo Neeley finished the game shooting 7-of-9 with 16 points and nine rebounds. Mya Johnson recorded double digit scoring numbers with 10 points from 4-of-10 shooting from the field and 2-of-4 from the free-throw line. Johnson also had a block, an assist and six rebounds. 
 
Northwestern enters the contest 4-8 overall and 2-8 in GAC play.

Brown is posting 11.4 points and 9.6 rebounds. She's draining 78.3% of her shots from the free-throw line. 
 
Neeley averages 10.7 points from shooting 55.6% from the three-point line and 52.9% from the field. 
 
S. Frame rounds out the leading scorers with 8.7 points and 4.2 rebounds. S. Frame completes 39.6% of her shots including 30% of her three pointers.

Alexus Jones led the way for the Crimson Storm with 23 points, five assists and six rebounds. Kennedy Gillette scored 15 points, stole the ball once and grabbed four rebounds. Gillette finished shooting a perfect 3-for-3 from the three-point line and 5-for-6 from the field. Emily Monaghan recorded 12 points, two assists and seven rebounds. Cassandra Awatt finished with 11 points, five rebounds and a steal. 
 
SNU is 3-5 overall and 3-5 in the Great American Conference.

SNU travels to Alva coming off a win home win against the Tigers of East Central. The Crimson Storm fought off ECU on Thursday, winning 61-56. 
 
Payton Jones leads Southern Nazarene in scoring, averaging 12.2 points and 2 rebounds. P. Jones is shooting 47.8% from the field and 50% from deep. 
 
Awatt averages 11.9 points and 6.9 rebounds. 
 
Monaghan posts 11.4 points with 3.4 rebounds. She's shooting 41.9% from the field. 
 
Gillette is recording 10.6 points and 6.8 rebounds. 
 
A. Jones rounds out SNU's double digit scorers with 10.2 points and 5.2 rebounds. She's completing 36.5 % of her shots from the field and 71.4% of her free throws.
