Northwestern Drops Two on Saturday to Close Out the Season

MAGNOLIA, Ark. – The Rangers dropped both games of the doubleheader on Saturday at Southern Arkansas. Falling in five innings in each contest, dropped game one 8-0 and the second game 9-1 at Dawson Field.
 
NWOSU falls to 8-30 overall and 3-29 in the Great American Conference.
 
Two Rangers would collect a hit in game one, Jayden Solberg would have two, while Hannah Howell would hit the other.
 
Alexia Taylor would get the ball in game one, throwing four innings, surrendering eight runs on nine hits. Taylor falls to 2-3 on the season, with the loss. 
 
SAU would score three runs in the bottom of the second to take a 3-0 lead. 
 
The Muleriders would score three runs in the fourth inning to take a 6-0 lead.
 
Southern Arkansas would score two more in the fifth to finish game one, 8-0 in five innings. 
 
In-game two, The Red-and-Black would be held to one hit by Elisa Favela of SAU, a Howell solo homerun to start the game.
 
Southern Arkansas would answer back in the bottom of the first with two runs to take a 2-1 lead. 
 
In the third inning, SAU would score six runs to get an 8-1 lead.
 
Favela would hit a sacrifice fly to complete the run-rule in game two 9-1. 

Howell would get the start going 4.2 innings in the loss, allowing nine runs on eight hits.
