Women's Golf Concluded NSU Women's Classic Tuesday

Broken Arrow, Oklahoma - Northwestern Women's Golf team finished up the NSU Classic on Tuesday at The Club at Indian Springs in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. The Red-and-Black concluded the tournament in 16th place finish after posting a team score of 651 for the tournament.

"Last week was a challenging week for these ladies, and they showed grit and determination to put together back-to-back weeks. I'm very proud of how they worked this week to drop their team score from last week and also better their score from the first round of the NSU Women's Classic this week. Very excited for their final two tournaments this fall." Director of Golf Tim Lauderdale said.

Samantha Friday led the Red-and-Black in the tournament, carding a 158 over the two rounds. Friday carded an 81 in the first round while improving her score in the second round by carding a 77 while dropping two birdies along the way. The 158 finish would earn Friday a tie for 48th place in the tournament.

Madison Masch was the next finisher for the Rangers, carding an 83 in round one while improving her score in round two carding an 81. Masch would finish the tournament shooting a 164 over her two rounds and recorded a birdie in the classic.

Mackena Tennyson was next for the Rangers as she would record a 84 in round one, following with an 83 in round two as she finsihed the classic with a score of 167.

"The past three days with the girls' team was a blast. Everyone improved on scores from the previous tournament. We improved our team scores from Monday to Tuesday, and after being on the course with them, I am very excited to start practices to help them all keep improving on their games!" Stated David Rogers, Northwestern Golf Coach.

Angela Egger would post a two-round score of 168 after finishing the first round with an 86 as she followed day two with shooting an 82. Egger would record three birdies in her two rounds in Broken Arrow.

Savannah Monahan carded a two-round score of 168 completing round one with an 80, before shooting an 88 in the second round while recording two birdies for her score.

Henderson State claimed the tournament title after turning in a team score of 576 as a team. The Reddies were led by Gracen Blount, who claimed the first-place title after carding a two-round score of 137. Blount carded a 70 in round one and a 67 in round two.

UP NEXT: The Rangers will be back in action on October 10-11 for the NCAA DII Central Region Preview at the Hot Springs Golf Club in Hot Springs, Ark.
