MONTICELLO, ARKANSAS- Northwestern Oklahoma State traveled into Monticello, Arkansas, to complete their longest road trip of the season to start the New Year. The Lady Rangers used a dominant opening quarter, scoring 31 of the opening 38 points of the game. The Red-and-Black won the Saturday afternoon game 82-63 over the Blossoms to win their fourth consecutive and third straight conference games.

The win improves Northwestern's record to 7-5 on the season with a 3-3 conference record as Arkansas Monticello drops to 0-12.

Northwestern was led in scoring by Bailey Brown and Scout Frame, combining for 53 points in the win. Brown led with 29, followed by S. Frame 24 points and Kinsey Neiderer with ten as the Lady Ranger three double-figure scorers. The Red-and-Black had three players lead with five assists in Carly Craig, Brown, and Josena Frame. Brown and S. Frame led with eight rebounds each.

The Lady Rangers could not have gotten off to a better start scoring the first seven points of the game from three different players as Neiderer got it started with a three-pointer, followed by two straight layups from Brown and one from S. Frame. Northwestern would hold Monticello to 0 points through the opening three minutes forcing three turnovers before UAM socred. S. Frame would score seven straight for the Lady Rangers to push their first double-digit lead of the game at 16-5 halfway through the opening quarter. A Neiderer three late in the first quarter would push the lead to 21 at 27-6 for her second of the quarter. Brown put the final touches on the quarter with a mid-range jump shot assisted from J. Frame to go up 31-7 to end the quarter.

J. Frame helped the Lady Rangers pick up right where the team left off in the first quarter to open the second quarter scoring and push the lead to 26. This would be only points through the opening two minutes of the quarter as each team went cold for a short stretch. A Brown layup would end the three-minute scoring drought for the Lady Rangers. The offense picked back up midway through the quarter as each team traded points down the floor in three straight possessions. Northwestern continued to hold their 25 point lead through the quarter to that point. The Lady Rangers would push their lead to as high as 28 with 3:26 left in the quarter before Arkansas-Monticello went on a run. The Blossoms closed out a 14-0 run to bring their deficit back to 14 at 45-31 before a Scout Frame layup assisted by Josena Frame was able to end the Monticello run.

Northwestern would go into halftime with a 16 point lead from a 49-33 score.

Brown opened the scoring in the third quarter with a layup for her 20th point of the afternoon, as the Rangers opened with the first four points of the quarter to push the lead back to 20. The Blossoms tried to make some pushes through the quarter, but the Lady Rangers had every answer keeping them a distance away. Frame foul shots at the 4:41 mark of the third quarter would put the Lady Rangers back up by 20 at 58-38. The two teams would hit a scoring drought as each team would make one shot through the next two and half minutes as an Andi Pierce three put it back to 20 at 61-41. The quarter would close out with two Neiderer foul shots pushing the Rangers lead to 67-46 after three quarters.

Lady Rangers would start the scoring in the fourth quarter again following a Brown jump shot pushing the lead to 23. The Red-and- Black would push the lead back up to 28 at 78-50 following a Brown layup on S. Frame's fourth assist. The Lady Rangers kept the Blossoms out of reach trading baskets. The Blossoms would get the game's final basket with a three-pointer to cut it under 20, but the Lady Rangers closed out the complete-game win with an 82-63 victory for the fourth straight.

The Red-and-Black will now return home for a three-game homestand that is set to begin on Thursday, January 6th, with tip-off set for 5:30 against Henderson State.
