Arkadelphia, Arkansas - The Rangers faced Ouachita Baptist University Saturday afternoon completing their fourth shoutout in the last five games. The two teams ended with a 0-0 tie each earning a point in the result. The Rangers defense worked well as a unit to keep the Tigers from scoring a goal. This moves the Rangers to 6-4-6 on the season and the Tigers to 8-4-3.
Mikhaela Goen led the Rangers with two shots on goal while Abby Nunez, Carlie Massingale, and Faith Nino eached finished with one on the afternoon.
In the opening half the Rangers had to best scoring opportunity as the Ranger defense held the Tigers from taking a shot on goal after playing stellar defense. Northwestern was able to take four shots on goal however unable to find the back of the net in the opening half.
Goalkeeper Rachel Brown and defender Jazlyn Norwood made crucial plays that were detrimental to save the game Saturday afternoon holding the draw on a Tiger scoring opportunity. Brown saved three shots from the Tigers while the Rangers had five shots on goal. This is the teams sixth shutout of the season including Brown's third of the year.
Next up, the Rangers play at home against Oklahoma Baptist University on Thursday October 27th at 6:00pm for the final home game of the season before concluding the regular season on Saturday in Bethany.
