Northwestern Set to Travel to Durant to Close Out Fall Conference Schedule

ALVA, OKLAHOMA - Northwestern Oklahoma State travels to Durant, Oklahoma against Great American Conference opponent Southeastern Oklahoma State in Bloomer Sullivan Arena. 
 

 This will be the Lady Rangers first game since December 10th in a loss to Southern Nazarene at home. Camille Thomas led the team in scoring with 14 points while adding nine rebounds a team high. Faith Simpson finished with 12 points as the second Lady Ranger in double figures. 
 

Saturday's game will be the first of two meetings between the two teams this season as they will square off once again on February 25th in Alva for the final regular season game of the season. 
 

The Lady Rangers will carry a 4-2 overall record into the Saturday game with a 1-2 Great American Conference record. Northwestern will look for their first road win of the season as the team enters 0-1. 
 

Northwestern has three players averaging double figures on the season with Simpson leading the charge with 17.0 points per game scoring at least 12 points in six straight games. Carly Craig averages 11.3 scoring at least 10 in five of six games, with Thomas averaging 10 points per game. Craig leads the team with 5.8 assists per game running the Ranger offense.
 

 Simpson and Thomas lead the team in rebounding with 7.8 and 7 rebounds per game.On the defensive side of the floor the Lady Rangers are led by Simpson with 20 steals along with six blocks, both team highs. 
 

Scouting the Opponent:

The Savage Storm are led by head coach Darin Grover in his 18th season with the Savage Storm with a record of 263-215 overall. He holds a 16-6 record against the Rangers dating back to 2013.
 

Southeastern Oklahoma State enters Saturday holding a 3-5 overall record with a 1-2 conference record. The Savage Storm will look to protect home court with a 2-0 record in Durant this season. 
 

Briley Moon leads the way averaging 18.2 points per game for Southeastern on 48.5% shooting. She is joined by Caitlin Kobiske averaging double figures at 13.2 points a game. Aimee Alverson averages a team high 3.6 assists per game. Kobiske is the team leading rebounder at 7.0 boards per game. 
 

History:

This will be the 23rd meeting between the two programs dating back to January of 2013. Southeastern leads 16-6 after splitting the 2021-2022 season series. Northwestern took the first meeting 71-68 in Alva before losing the game in Durant. Northwestern looks for their first win in Durant since January of 2014.
