Lady Rangers Set for Trip to Weatherford

ALVA, Oklahoma- Northwestern Oklahoma State Women's Basketball is set to hit the road Tuesday afternoon as they play their make-up game against Southwestern Oklahoma State University. Tip-off is set for 5:30 in Weatherford Oklahoma. Northwestern will look to go for the season sweep over the Bulldogs. 
 

The Lady Rangers (13-10 overall and 9-8 GAC) enter Tuesday winners in three of their last five games but will be coming off a loss to Henderson State after splitting their week trip this past week in Arkadelphia. 
 

Offensively the Rangers are led by Bailey Brown and Scout Frame both averaging double figures for the Lady Rangers at 19 points on 51.2% shooting and 16 points for Frame on 44% shooting. Brown is shooting 90% from the foul line overall on the season which is first in the conference and 8th in the nation. Kinsey Neiderer leads the Lady Rangers with 44 made three pointers on 35.8% shooting with Carly Craig second at 34 shots made behind the arc. Overall the Lady Rangers are fourth in the GAC in made three pointers with Neiderer being ninth in the GAC in that category. As a team Northwestern is seventh in offensive points per game at 71.9 points per game and fourth in field goal percentage at 42.4%. 
 

The Lady Ranger defense is led in steals by Carly Craig and Bailey Brown at 31 on the season with Brown leading the team with 10 blocks on the season. Northwestern is sixth in turnovers forced at 16.9 per game. The team ranks second in field goal percentage defense and second in points allowed at 63.7. Northwestern continues to take advantage of the rebounds ranking second in defensive rebounds at first in rebound margin in the conference. Brown leads the team in rebounding at 8.3 per game.
 

Scouting the Bulldogs:

Southwestern (21-4 overall and 15-2 GAC) enters Tuesday on a six game win streak including a ten game win streak at home. The Bulldogs are 10-0 at Pioneer Cellular Event Center on the year. 
 

The Bulldogs have a high powered offense that ranks first in the conference at 82.5 points per game and second overall in Division II. They are led by Makyra Tramble at 20.4 points per game ranking second in the conference and 15th in the nation. She is also first in the league in assists averaging 5.1 on the year for a total of 127 on the season. As a team the Bulldogs are shooting 43.2% on the year. 
 

Defensively Southwestern is in the middle of the pack ranking fifth in points per game at 66 and ranking fifth in forced turnovers at 18 per game. Tramble leads the team in steals per game with 2.40 ranking second in the conference. Lauren Ramey ranks sixth in the conference in blocked shots with 23 on the season. 
 

History:
 

This will be the second meeting between the two programs this season as the Rangers took the first meeting 79-68 behind double-doubles from both S. Frame and Brown in the Lady Ranger upset victory. Craig was the third Ranger to finish with double figures at 14. 

Overall the Bulldogs lead the series history since 2013 at 18-3 winning four of the last five games. Southwestern has won nine straight in Weatherford in the series history as the Lady Rangers will look to end that losing streak.
