Northwestern Set to Host Arkansas Tech Thursday Night

ALVA, OKLA- Northwestern Oklahoma State Women's Basketball team is set to return to action challenging Arkansas Tech Thursday evening. Northwestern will look to split the season series with the Golden Suns after dropping the first meeting between the two teams. Tip-of f is set for 5:30 PM in Percefull Fieldhouse. 
 
The Lady Rangers (13-11 overall and 9-9 GAC) enter Thursday dropping their last two games both coming on the road to Henderson State and Southwestern. The Red-and-Black have played well at home with a 10-2 record on the season winning their last game in Alva against East Central. 
 
Northwestern's offense continues to be led by Bailey Brown scoring 18.8 points per game this season  on 50.8% shooting on behind Kes Reeves at 52.8% on the team. Scout Frame is the other Lady Ranger double figure scorer at 15.8 points per game this season. Kinsey Neiderer and Carly Craig lead the Lady Rangers in three-point shooting as Neiderer leads the team hitting 45 on the season while Craig leads with a 39% from behind the arc. Craig has led the team with 102 assists on the year for 4.4 per game ranking second in the conference in the statistic. 
 
Overall the Lady Rangers come into this game ranked fourth in the conference in field goal percentage at 42.4% and seventh in points per game at 71.3 each outing. Northwestern is four in the league in assists per game at 14.5 as a team and second overall with a total of 349 assists.  
 
Brown and Craig lead the team with 33 and 32 steals on the season to lead the Lady Ranger defense.  As Brown leads the team with 10 blocks followed by Camille Thomas with seven on the season.  Brown leads the team with 8.2 rebounds per game with S. Frame at 7.0.
 
Defensively Northwestern enters play as one fo the better defensive teams in the conference ranked in the top half. The Red-and-Black are ranked fourth in field goal percentage defense at 38.5% holding their opponents to. The team is fourth at 64.9 points per game allowed. The team is third in rebounding and first in rebound margin on the year.
 
Scouting the Golden Suns:
The Golden Suns (13-9 overall, and 10-8 GAC) enter play just a head of the Lady Rangers in the standing by a single game.  They enter play winners in three of their last four games including their last game out against Arkansas Monticello. Arkansas Tech is 4-5 on the road this season entering play Thursday. 
 
Kaley Shipman leads tech at 17.5 points per game as one of four double figure scorers per game. Next for the Golden Suns is Jayana Sanders at 14.4 and Ashlei Lopez at 14.1 points per game. Shipman leads the team in FG% at 47.5% per game. Sanders lead the team in assist with 82 on the season. As a team Tech ranks seventh in assist per game and third in field goal percentage at 43% and is the fourth highest scoring team at 75.1 per game.
Defensively Tech is holding their opponents to 39.6% from the field for seventh in the league while holding them to 70.5 points per game for the 8th most in the league. 
 
History:
The Lady Rangers look for their third win the series history as Arkansas Tech leads 13-2 overall.  Northwestern is 1-4 in the last five with the Lady Rangers taking the last game in Alva 92-76. 
 
Arkansas Tech won the first meeting this season 65-58. Brown led the team with 23 points on the afternoon followed by S. Frame with 18. Brown had a double-double with 13 rebounds. Tech used a strong third quarter winning 17-8 to control the second half.
