ALVA, OKLAHOMA - Northwestern Oklahoma State football schedule has been finalized for the 2022 season. The upcoming year will feature an 11 game schedule all being Great American Conference games. The Red-and-Black will play host to five games this season with six on the road making up the teams 11 game. The Rangers will enter their eighth season under head coach Matt Walter.
"Mark your calendars, the 2022 season kicks off in 86 days! We are so excited to get back on the field together. With five home games and six road games the first of which is at Southern Arkansas. This will get us tested right out of the gate. We will be ready for the challenge and without any out of conference games each and every game will matter for any postseason play! We cannot wait for the start of the season" stated head coach Matt Walter.
The Red-and-Black will open the 2022 season on the road in Magnolia Arkansas with a 6:00 PM kickoff against Southern Arkansas on Thursday, September 1st.
Following opening week the Rangers will travel home to Alva for back-to-back home games. Northwestern will play their 2022 home opener against the Reddies of Henderson State with a 6:00 PM kickoff on Saturday September 10th. Northwestern will remain home for game three of the season with a 6:00 PM kickoff against Oklahoma Baptist.
After two straight home games for the Rangers the team will hit the road to face East Central University in Ada, Oklahoma for the second road game of the season. Northwestern will look to win its third straight game in Ada after wins in 2017 and 2019.
Northwestern will then come back home for week five with a game against Ouachita Baptist with a 3:00 PM afternoon kickoff to start the month of October on Ranger field.
Week six the Rangers travel to Arkansas Monticello for a 2:00 PM afternoon kickoff before playing Southeastern at home seven day later on October 15th. That game against Savage Storm will be a 2:00 PM kickoff.
A two game road trip is up next for the Rangers following the game with Southeastern as the Red-and-Black travel to Bethany, Okla. and Searcy, Arkansas for a game against the Crimson Storm in Bethany and Searcy against Harding on October 29th at 4:00 PM.
Northwestern's final home game of the 2022 season will be the homecoming for Northwestern on November 5th with a 4:00 PM kickoff. This year's homecoming game is against Arkansas Tech.
The Rangers will close out the season on November 12th with a road game against Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford for game number 11.
