Northwestern Set for 2023 Hall of Fame Game Saturday

ALVA, OKLAHOMA- The Lady Rangers look to build off their upset win over Harding Thursday evening 69-66. Northwestern remains home for their second straight game in Percefull Fieldhouse. This will be Northwestern's Hall of Fame game as the previous inductees will be recognized at  halftime.

Northwestern enters Saturday afternoon with a 8-8 overall record and a 4-8 conference mark. Northwestern looks to protect home court, which they are 7-3 this season. Arkansas Tech enters with a 10-6 overall record and a 8-4 record within GAC games. Tip-off is set for 1:00 PM for the first of two meetings between the programs this season.

The Red-and-Black are 3-13 overall against the Golden Suns after splitting last season's series. The Lady Rangers are 2-1 in the last three games winning two straight here in Alva. Overall in the series Northwestern is 3-5 at home.

In the Lady Rangers last game Northwestern won 69-66 behind a 21 point performance from Carly Craig. She led the team in points along with assists with four. She was joined in double figures by Camille Thomas, Talayah Thomas, and Faith Simpson. Simpson also got it done defensively leading the team with three steals.

Overall for the season Northwestern has been led in scoring by Simpson averaign 16.9 points per game. She is one of three double figure scorers as Camille Thomas averages 12.3, Carly Craig 11.3. Talayah Thomas is close at 8.3 points a game after scoring double figures in five straight games for the Red-and-Black. Craig leads the team with 81 assists on the season with the next closest 36 by Talayah Thomas.

On the defensive side of the ball for Northwestern the team allows 61.2 points per game behind Faith Simpson leading in steals with 39 and blocks with 21 on the season. Craig is second in steals with 37 on the season with Talayah Thomas at 32. NOrthwestern has taken advantage of rebounding with a +6.1 rebound differential. The team is led by Simpson with 7.1 per game followed by Camille Thomas with 6.9.

ARKANSAS TECH: 

The Golden Suns enter play Saturday winning their last game over Southwestern in Weatherford 79-72. The team was led by Jalei Oglesby dropping 31 points in the win followed by Kaley Shipman with 16 points. The team overall is 5-2 in road games.

Arkansas Tech is led by Oglesby with 19.5 points per game followed by Kaley Shipman with 12.3 per game as the two players averaging double figures on the team. They are led in assists by Oglesby with 32 with three players close all over 30. Shipman has 31 on the year followed by Alex Hill with 30.

Defensively the team is led by Hill with 28 steals on the season followed by Oglesby with 25. Sarah Edmondson leads the team in blocks with 14 on the year. The Golden Suns average 43.6 rebounds per game led by Oglesby with 8.3 followed by Dana Thompson with 6.6.
