ALVA, OKLAHOMA - Northwestern Oklahoma State looks to bounce back after the two point overtime loss to Henderson State on Saturday. The Rangers overall split last week going 1-1 with their Thursday win over Ouachita Baptist.
The Rangers bring in a record of 10-11 with a 6-11 conference mark and a 7-4 record in Percefull Fieldhouse.
The series history between the two teams is 12-11 in favor of the Rangers. Northwestern is 8-4 in Percefull Fieldhouse. The Rangers will try and force a series split like last season. The Rangers fell in the first game in Weatherford with a final score of 74-71. Parsons led with 27 points followed by Free and White in double figures as well.
Malik Parsons leads the team in scoring as one of three players averaging double figures. Parsons leads the team at 23.7 per game followed by Brian Free with 13 points and Larry White with 11.4 per game. Parsons and Free have the team high in assists at 72 and 62 on the season.
Defensively Northwestern is led by Larry White who has 33 steals and 32 blocks on the season, one of two players to be in double digits for both. The other being Shavaul Butters with 10 steals and 26 blocks. Parsons and Free are tied for the team high with 34 steals on the season.
SOUTHWESTERN OKLAHOMA STATE:
The Bulldogs look to gain momentum from a one point victory over Ouachita Baptist. Overall Southwestern is 2-3 in their last five games, and enter play with an 11-12 overall record and 7-10 conference mark with a 2-6 on the road.
Southwestern is led by Ben Smith offensively averaging 15.0 points per game as one of three double figure scorers. He is joined by Kamden Gipson with 12.7 points and Chris Braggs at 12.2 points per game. Gipson leads the team with 81 assists on the season with the next closest 42 from MJ Warrior.
Defensively, overall the Bulldogs are led by DeAngelo Adkins with 39 steals and 29 blocks on the season. Nate Goodlow leads the team in steals though with 49 and Adkins 29 blocks is the team high. Chris Braggs is also in double digits with 19 steals and 11 blocks. DeAngelo Adkins, Mark Berry, and Ben Smith each average about 5 rebounds per game.
