ALVA, OKLAHOMA- Northwestern Oklahoma State concluded their third invitational of the spring season at the Hillcat Classic the eighth year of the classic. This was hosted by Rogers State at the Bailey Ranch Golf Club in Owasso Oklahoma.
The Rangers placed ninth overall in the tournament shooting a 690 (344-346) in the two round invitational. Northwestern was led by Madison Masch finishing with the lowest score.
Masch tied for 34th overall in the tournament after shooting a 169 in the two rounds, 84 in round one followed by an 85 in round two. She posted two birdies in the tournament tied for the team high with two others. She shot 13 pars in the two days.
Two Rangers tied for the team's second spot in Jalen Castle and Madison Kerr at 171. Castle improved the second day after shooting an 88 in round one and was five shots better in round two finishing with an 83. Castle shot two birdies and 11 pars for the invitational.
Kerr finished as the third golfer tied with 2 pars the team high with 10 pars third on the Rangers. Kerr shot an 84 in round before a slightly higher mark in the second day with an 87 for her total of 171.
Samantha Friday was fourth for Northwestern as she shot a 179 total after a 88 in round one before shooting a 91 on the second day. Friday was tied on the team with 10 pars shot in the invitational.
Angela Egger finished with a score of 181 following a 90 in round one and a 91 in round two. She shot one birdie along with seven pars throughout the classic.
Rogers State won the Hillcat Classic after shooting a 609 in the two rounds followed by Nebraska-Kearney and Missouri Western St. Lydia Sitorus of Rogers State won the tournament with a 150 total score.
Northwestern will return to action on April 3rd and 4th competing in their next Invitational at Sand Creek Station hosted by Newman University.
