Rangers Drop Season Series Finale vs Southwestern

Both SWOSU and NWOSU saw multiple pitching change within the game, with the first one being extremely early in for both of the teams. Hannah Howell began on the mound and pitched for the main duration of the game.

Bulldogs earned two hits in the top of the second inning but were in no rush to add some runs to the scoreboard, meanwhile the bottom half went quick for the Rangers as well.

Southwestern scored their first run of the game their third time up to bat off a single hit to left center. One hit was made by Northwestern when it was their turn back at the plate but fell short of scoring.

Besides one walk issued by Howell, both teams went in order during the fourth inning. The time missed in the fourth inning was made up for in the fifth inning however, as it was eventful.

The Bulldogs managed to score four runs within the fifth inning off a few errors made by our defense. Ireland Caro was sent in as flex for Howell and put a stop to their scoring. This struck a motivation within Laney Anderson to then answer back with a home run, tying the game back up 5-5.

Caro continued to try and add pressure within the batters box, only allowing one hit to be made during the sixth inning. A great infield play was made by second basemen Oakley to catcher Anderson at home plate stopping Southwestern from breaking the tie.

Transitioning back to offense was again a quick one for the Rangers as SWOSU fielded extremely well.

A second pitching change was made for Northwestern during the final inning, utilizing Allie Hufford in the circle. Southwestern scored four more runs in the last inning of the game to seal their win 9-5.

Continuing their home game stand, the Lady Rangers will be hosting Arkansas Monticello for a three-game series starting on Friday April 14th at 3:00PM. They will play a doubleheader that evening and conclude the series Saturday morning at 11:00AM.
