ENID, OKLAHOMA - Northwestern Oklahoma State won their third consecutive game against the East Central Tigers to win the season series 3-1 over East Central. Rangers used an eight run third inning to take control over the game for the eventual run rule win over the Tigers!
This game was played in Enid, Oklahoma for the annual hot dogs and apple pie game hosted by NWOSU Alumni Foundation.
Brady Bejarano, Brandon Holdren,and Trevor Saire each had two hits in the win. Saire led the team with two RBIs. Hayden Priest had a solo home run in the game.Â
Northwestern jumped on the board early after Connor GIbson work around a leadoff single to retire the next three in order. The Rangers got things started with back to back singles by Bradey Bejarano and Paul Sachen. This setup his first RBI single of the afternoon for a Ranger 1-0 lead through the first.Â
East Central had the answer quickly in the second inning after a leadoff walk was followed by an RBI double down the left field line scoring Blankenship to tie the game at 1. Rangers failed to score after a one out single.Â
In the bottom of the third inning the Rangers offense exploded for eight runs in the inning. This was started by the Rangers having second and third nobody out after a Holdren double. Saire had his second RBI single of the afternoon to take a 2-1 lead. He was followed by a sacrifice fly scoring Holdren for a 3-1 Ranger lead. Harley Shaffer followed with an RBI double to right field. Bejarano then had an RBI double to left center before an error allowed a couple more runs to score. THe final run of the inning was driven in on a HOldren double, his second of the inning.Â
The Ranger pitching staff this time Gaschidle blanked the Tigers for the second straight inning before the Rangers extended the lead to 10-1 on a solo home run from the Enid native pushing the Ranger lead to 10-1.Â
East Central had a hit but Jacob McMahan worked around the single keeping the game at 10-1 before the Rangers added two more runs. Jose Rubalcava had a pinch hit RBI single scoring Thomas Beiswanger. Brayden Koenig later hit an RBI single to right field, scoring Frisby.Â
Justin Dunlap threw a scoreless sixth inning before a combined scoreless seventh inning from Drew Price and Koby Hudson.Â
The Rangers travel to Monticello, Arkansas for a three game series starting on April 14th against the Weevils.
