Rangers Fall in Final Game of Series

MAGNOLIA, ARKANSAS- The third game played between the Lady Rangers and Muleriders at Southern Arkansas University was ended in favor of the Muleriders after they won 16-0. Southern Arkansas used a strong performance from Gracie King going 3-3 with 4RBI's. A nine run third inning broke things open for the Muleriders.

One of the only two hits of the game completed by Northwestern was made by starting pitcher Hannah Howell, singling through the left side before Laney Anderson followed with a walk. Rangers had runner in scoring posltion early but were unable to score as the Muleriders escaped no damage done. Three hits were made by SAU with Howell on the mound in the first inning. The third one was an RBI single giving the Muleriders a 1-0 early lead.

Second inning fell quick for the Rangers as they went in order, and the Muleriders took this momentum and ran with it. They opened the second inning hitting a home run and got two more hits off before Ireland Caro was sent in as reliever for Howell. They added a couple more runs on the board by the end of the inning, putting them up 5-0. 

 Three ground outs were hit by NWOSU in attempt to fight back. In the third inning Southern Arkansas broke the game open as a three run home run put Southern Arkansas up 9-0 before finishing the inning with a nine spot taking a 14-0 lead over the Rangers.

After the Rangers fourth inning to bat was scoreless. Shakyrah Gladness was sent to pitcher and Madeline Pack was sent to catcher. Two more home runs were hit by Southern Arkansas extending their lead in the game once more, as the score now resulted in a score of 16-0. 

The game ended in the top of the fifth after a single was hit made by Lindsey McElroy, however Southern Arkansas was able to keep the shutout against the Rangers to seal the win by a final of 16-0.

The Lady Rangers return to Alva to compete against the Ouachita Baptist Tigers, their final series of the season. The games begin Friday at 2:00pm with a doubleheader and finish Saturday at 11:00am to close out the regular season..
