ALVA, OKLAHOMA - Northwestern Oklahoma State graduate Malik Parsons has signed to play professional basketball with the Bakken Bears, a basketball team in Denmark.
Parsons has spent the last two seasons with the Rangers coming off his best season averaging 24.8 points per game along with 4.4 rebounds and 3.3 assists. Defensively the Ranger guard had 1.6 steals a contest. Overall in two seasons with Northwestern, Parsons accumulated a total of 1,122 points in two seasons.
Parsons finished the season with a multitude of accolades after breaking the single game scoring record at Northwestern, broke single season record for most made free throws in a season, was the team lead in assists and points on the year. He went on to be named to the GAC First Team All-Confernece, led the conference in scoring, GAC Player of the Week three times, NCAA D2 second leading scorer, and named to the D2CCA Men's Basketball All-Central Region Second Team.
Bakken Bears are located in Denmark, Scandinavia competing in the European Club Competitions. They have won 21 National Championships including the most recent being the defending champions after a 24-6 season.
