Weatherly to Take on Assistant Athletic Director Duties at Northwestern

ALVA, OKLAHOMA - Northwestern Oklahoma State Director of Athletics Brad Franz announced the hiring of Nathan Weatherly as the new Assistant Director of Athletics for Internal Operations.

Weatherly is set to take the position starting in November for Tim Lauderdale. Lauderdale spent 12 years at Northwestern and is moving to Oklahoma City to enter private business.  Weatherly brings in over six years of experience in managing and optimizing athletic programs, while overseeing all aspects of operations including gameday logistics, event coordinator, and program development and fundraising.
 
Stated Athletic Director Brad Franz, "Replacing Tim is a monumental task as he was a tremendous employee for Ranger Athletics and Northwestern.  He did a super job with our student-athletes and our coaches.  I am excited to bring in someone with Nathan
Weatherly's experience and familiarity of how Northwestern works and the great programs with have here.  He will do an outstanding job for our student-athletes and coaches."

Weatherly, a Ranger alum, is set to return after working with El Paso Border Youth Athletic Association since January of 2023. While with the Athletic Association, Weatherly was responsible for budget management, event scheduling and coordination, fundraising and sponsorships while also being in charge of recruitment and coach support, leadership, and public relations.
 
Before taking the job with El Paso Border Youth Athletic Association, he worked in Major League Baseball as the Director of Data Operations. With the MLB, Weatherly was running in-game system management, scoring and data integrity, and date reporting. He collaborated with game officials as well.
 
Prior to his time working with Major League Baseball, Weatherly was the Asssistant baseball coach/Director of Operations and Recruiting Coordinator for the Rangers at Northwestern Oklahoma State. He was in charge of team operations management, gameday operations, social media and fundraising.
 
Weatherly returns to Alva after graduating with two degrees from Northwestern Oklahoma State earning his Bachelor's degree in Agriculture Business, before graduating with his Master's degree in Adult Education/ Sports Administration.
