ALVA, OKLAHOMA - Northwestern Oklahoma State Women's Soccer hosted Ouachita Baptist for the final home game of the season. After a scoreless first half the Tigers used a strong start early in the second half to take a 3-0 win over the Rangers.
The Rangers finished with a 2-9-7 record on the season while Ouachita Baptist finished with a 7-7-3 record.Â
Northwestern led in shots by Isabella Mcmillan and Jazlyn Norwood with two while each had one on goal. Rachel Brown finished with four saves. Overall the Tigers led in shots 11-8 with a total of 7-6 on goal.Â
Each team had a shot early on in the contest as Mckenna Wright of Ouachita Baptist shot high before at the 4:46 mark Tiara Campbell almost picked up a goal on a shot attempt but it was saved by the Tigers goalkeeper Taylor Hapgood creating a corner kick try for the Rangers.Â
The Tigers first shot on goal opportunity was created at the 12:55 mark which was saved by the Ranger goalkeeper Rachel Brown. Both teams had a corner kick in the final stretch of the half but neither could capitalize, as the game went into halftime tied 0-0.Â
Ouachita Baptist capitalized in the early part of the second half having a shot on goal saved by Rachel Brown before the Tigers were able to score on a goal by Teagan Jaussi assisted by Sophia Valencia for 1-0 Tiger lead.Â
In the 50th minute the Tigers struck with Jaussi's second goal of the half assisted by Reese Brown for a 2-0 Tigers lead. Reese Brown then delivered the Tigers third goal at the 58:27 mark as the visitors took a 3-0 lead over the Rangers.
The Rangers then had a few opportunities starting with a corner kick at the 61:23 mark before shots on goal by Amaia Stephens and Jenna Mills but both were saved by Taylor Hapgood.Â
Northwestern then had three more opportunities with shots on goal from Jazlyn Norwood, Isabella Mcmillan and Tanah Huffines but were not able to get one past Hapgood.
Ouachita Baptist closed out the 3-0 win over the Rangers on Monday afternoon.Â
