Rangers Offensive Output Leads to Win on Road

TAHLEQUAH, OKLAHOMA -  Northwestern Oklahoma State had a comeback victory over Northeastern after trailing 5-0 through three innings, the Rangers came back to win 24-14. Rangers had a well balanced offense that had seven and eight run innings to help the team win.  

The Rangers improved to 28-15 on the season after the Tuesday afternoon victory. 

Every Rangers starting hitter finished the game with at least a run scored, hit, and an RBI. Five different Rangers had 3-RBIs in the win, and with four different hitters with three hits. Six Rangers scored at least three runs. 

Cade Phelps threw 1.2 scoreless innings to earn the win on Tuesday afternoon, not allowing a run while striking out two.

Northeastern struck first on a throwing error for an early 1-0 lead. White then later hit a 2-RBI double to center field for a 3-0 lead after the first inning. 

The score remained 3-0 into the third inning when Northeastern extended their lead with an RBI single by Williams, as  Van Meter drew an RBI walk for the 5-0 lead. 

Northwestern answered back though in the fourth inning when Hagen Barcello delivered an RBI double to left field scoring Carson Wright getting the Rangers on the board. The inning continued as Trevor Saire hit an RBI single through the left side scoring Sachen. 

Oscar Gallardo continued the inning with an RBI single scoring Barcello as the Rangers cut the deficit to 5-3. Zach Vetal hit a sacrifice fly before Chase Hamilton tied the game on an RBI single scoring Gallardo as the game was tied 5-5. Carson Wright hit an RBI single to give the Rangers a 6-5 lead the first of the game. Sachen then hit an RBI single for the Rangers seventh run of the game. 

Northeastern answered back with one run cutting the Rangers lead down to 7-6. Both teams continued to score in the fifth inning as two runs scored on Northeastern's error for a 9-6 lead, before Hagen Barcello added two more runs with a 2-RBI single for an 11-6 lead. 

The Riverhawks answered back with a three run home run as the Rangers lead was trimmed down to 12-9. Northwestern answered though with eight runs in the sixth inning. Dylan Bradford was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded forcing in a run, before Carson Wright hit a 2-RBI single for a 15-9 lead as Hamilton and Vetal came across to score. 

Trevor Saire doubled to center field scoring Wright and Bradford for a 17-9 lead which led to a Theron Perkins three run home run scoring Barcello and Saire for a 20-9 lead as the Rangers pushed the lead to 11. 

Northeastern doubled to center field scoring Miller, Ford, Fourkiller keeping the game going getting the Rangers lead back down to 20-13. The Rangers continued to add on through the eighth inning as Oscar Gallardo singled to right field, scoring Barcello for the 21-13. A balk brought in one more. Chase Hamilton singled back up the middle scoring Gallardo. A Dylan Bradford RBI ground out pushed the lead to 24-13. 

A solo home run brought the score to 24-14 before the Rangers closed out the 10 run victory over the Riverhawks. 

The Rangers will be on the road this weekend as against Southern Arkansas in Magnolia for a three game series against the Muleriders. Northwestern will have a doubleheader on Friday before a single game on Saturday.
