Rangers Close Season Out in Arkadelphia Against Ouachita Baptist

ARKADELPHIA, ARKANSAS - Northwestern Oklahoma State softball closed out their series with the Tigers in Arkadelphia on Saturday afternoon. The Rangers came back to take a one run lead in the 7th but the Tigers answered with two runs to have a walk off victory over the Rangers.

Northwestern finishes the season with 17 wins on the year with a final record of 17-33.

Rangers went down in order to start the game before a solo home run by Williams gave Ouachita an early 1-0 lead over the Rangers.

Northwestern had a double from Macy Spearman in the top of the second inning but was unable to score as the 1-0 Tiger lead continued.

It stayed 1-0 into the fourth inning when the Rangers offense struck for two runs. After a lead off walk from Rosemary Rivera followed by a Laney Anderson single, Northwestern tied the game on a Aveli Gonzalez RBI single back up the middle for the 1-1 game. Two batters later Tatum Winters gave the Rangers the lead on a sacrifice fly driving in Anderson and a 2-1 Rangers lead.

Ouachita, however, was able to answer back in the home half of the fourth as Williams hit a solo home run, her second home run of the game, to tie the game at 2-2 through the fifth inning.

The Tigers took the lead back in the sixth inning after a hit batter followed by a wild pitch pushed King to third before Adams had a sacrifice bunt to score King and take a 3-2 lead.

Northwestern's offense answered back with a 2-run blast to left field giving the Rangers a 4-3 lead in the 7th as Ashley Low walked to reach base. The Rangers carried the lead into the bottom half of the inning but the Tigers answered back.

A one out walk led to a McCorkle double to center field scoring Provence to tie the game at 4-4 with two outs before a Lester RBI single down the right field line gave the Tigers a walk off win over the Rangers.

This was the final game of the season for the Rangers, finishing with 17 wins four more than the previous season.
