Rangers Earn Conference Point Following Draw With Oklahoma Baptist

ALVA, OKLAHOMA - Northwestern Oklahoma State had the final home game of the seven straight home games closing the homestand with a 0-0 draw, to Oklahoma Baptist. The Rangers had seven saves from goalkeeper Rachel Brown.

The Rangers now 2-4-2 on the season with an 0-1-1 conference record while Oklahoma Baptist moves to 2-3-2 with a 1-0-1 conference mark. 

Oklahoma Baptist led in shots overall 13-10 and 7-6 on goal with both goalkeepers combining for 13 saves. 

The two teams took 10 minutes into the opening half to find their first shots as Isabella Mcmillan had the Rangers first one with a shot high. Oklahoma Baptist followed with a shot on goal saved by Rachel Brown. Lily Anderson off a corner kick had  shot over the top.

Neither team could strike in the first half playing to a 0-0 score heading into the halftime break. 

Lex Williamson four minutes into the second half looked to get the match's first goal but Rachel Brown came up with the save. Tanah Huffines had a shot toward the bottom right of the goal but Claire Stoermer had the save, keeping the game scoreless. 

Rangers, continuing to look to take advantage of a couple of opportunities, had two more shots on goal saved before Oklahoma Baptist looked to finish off their final opportunity. In the final 10 minutes of Saturday afternoon's games the Bison had a few corner kicks leading to a couple of shots. Brown saving two in the final six minutes kept the game scoreless helping the Rangers earn the draw.

Northwestern will next have a trip to Arkansas next as the Rangers head to Arkadelphia for the first of two games. First against Ouachita Baptist before going to Harding for a matchup in Searcy, Arkansas.
