ALVA, OKLAHOMA - The Northwestern Oklahoma State Lady Rangers (6-7, 3-4 GAC) will be concluding the two game Arkadelphia road trip at Henderson State (5-8, 3-4 GAC) for the first of two games against the Reddies this season. Tip-off is scheduled for 1:00 PM against the Reddies in the Duke Wells Center.
Overall these two teams meet for the 23rd time in program history since 2013. The series history is slightly in favor of Henderson State at 12-10. However the Lady Rangers come into the game on a three game win streak against Henderson State including a series sweep a year ago with a 71-63 win in Arkadelphia. Last 10 matchups is an even 5-5 record, while Henderson State has won nine of 11 at Duke Wells Center.
Northwestern will look for the first road win of the season sitting at 0-5, while trying to snap a two game losing streak in the last two games coming off losses to Oklahoma Baptist and Ouachita Baptist.
The last time out the Lady Rangers dropped Thursday's game by a final score of 65-62 as the fourth quarter comeback bid fell just short. Northwestern was led by Kira Bass with 15 points, one of four double figure scorers in the game. Bass also had a team high of four blacks, seven rebounds in the game.
The Rangers are led by Payton Jones at 14.7 points per game, one of three double figure scorers with Hight at 12.5 and Kira Bass with 10.5. Jones is eighth in the conference in points per game after scoring double figures in 12 of 13 games. Kira Bass is second in the conference in offensive rebounds per game at 3.4 followed by Camille Thomas at 2.8 for 5th. Carly Craig is second in the conference in three point percentage at 37.7%. Hight leads the team in assists at 44 on the season for 3.7 per game for a conference rank of 5th. Craig is second with 42 for 3.2 per game.
Kira Bass leads the team in blocks now on the season with 12 after her season high of four on Thursday versus Ouachita Baptist. She is second on the team in steals with 22 behind Camille Thomas of 26. Bass and Thomas lead the team in rebounding as Bass has 6.2 followed by Thomas at 5.8.
The Lady Rangers defense is first in the conference in turnovers forced per game at 20.38 per game and second in turnover margin at 6.1. Lady Rangers are second in the conference at scoring with 69.8 points per game. Northwestern is number one in offensive rebounds per game at 14.8.
HENDERSON STATE REDDIES:
The Reddies enter play on Saturday with a 5-8 record and 3-4 in conference play. Henderson State has won two of the last three games but will be coming off an 89-83 home loss to Southwestern Oklahoma State.
The last time out the Reddies lost 89-83 to Southwestern Oklahoma State. In the game were led by Brynlee Huggins with 24 points, one of four players to reach double figures in the game for Henderson State.
Brynlee Huggins leads the team in scoring on the season at 16.8 which is good for third in the conference. She is one of three players averaging double figures joined by Jadah Pickens at 15.7 and Natalie Cardenas at 14.5. Huggins is first in the league in three pointers made and made per game at 3.1. Sam Basson is the team leader in assists with 2.7 per game.
Bobbi Bazzle is the team leader in blocks with 13 for one per game, while Brynlee Huggins and Sam Basson lead the team in steals with 1.2 per game. Makenna Winans is the team leading rebounder at 8.1 per game which is fourth in the conference.
Henderson State is third in the conference in rebounding per game and second in the conference in three pointers made per game.

Lady Rangers in the Natural State are 54-82 vs schools from Arkansas since joining GAC & D2. On the road in Arkansas NWOSU is 17-50. Under Coach Diesselhorst Lady Rangers are 41-47 vs Arkansas schools & 13-30 on the road.
