ALVA, OKLAHOMA - The Northwestern Oklahoma State Lady Rangers (9-9, 6-6 GAC) travel to Searcy, Arkansas to complete the season series against Harding University (15-3, 11-1 GAC). Rangers look for their first road win of the season. Harding is first in the conference with their 11-1 record with the Lady Rangers in fifth. Harding has won 33 straight games at home.
This is match up number 25 of the series history between the two teams dating back to 2013. Northwestern trails the series history 3-21 against Harding in that period. The Bisons won the earlier season match up 59-47. Harding is 11-0 at home against the Lady Rangers.
Northwestern has won three of the last five games with wins over Southwestern (53-36), Southern Arkansas (75-59) and Arkansas Monticello (74-57).Â
In the last time out the Lady Rangers dropped a 62-58 game to East Central in Ada. Northwestern had four double-figure scorers led by Camille Thomas with 19 points followed by Carly Craig with 14 points, and Jaida Shipp and Tegan Jones each with 10 points.Â
The Rangers are led by Payton Jones at 12.5 points per game, one of three double-figure scorers with Hight at 11.8, and Carly Craig at 10.6. Kira Bass is second in the conference in offensive rebounds per game at 3.2 per game followed by Camille Thomas at 2.8 for 4th. Carly Craig is first in three-point percentage in the conference and second in three-pointers per game. Hight is third in the conference in assists per game at 4.1.
Kira Bass leads the team in blocks on the season with 19 blocks, fourth in the conference. Carly Craig leads the team with 33 steals followed by Camille Thomas with 32 steals. Kira Bass with her 17 blocks has 23 steals. Thomas is the team-leading rebounder with 6.3 per game
The Lady Rangers' defense is second in the conference in turnovers forced per game at 18.94, and second in turnover margin. The Lady Rangers are first in the conference in offensive rebounds per game with 14.6.
HARDING BISONS:
Harding enters play on Thursday with a three-game win streak and a 15-3 record with an 11-1 conference record. The Bisons have a perfect 7-0 record at home and look for their 34th straight win in Searcy.Â
Harding's three-game win streak includes wins over East Central in overtime, Arkansas Tech and Ouachita Baptist.Â
During the season the team is led in scoring with four players averaging double figures led by Sage Hawley with 17.8 points per game, followed by Aubrey Isbell at 12.3, Rory Geer at 12.0 and Josie Williams at 10.1. Hawley is first in the conference in points per game. Josie Williams leads the team in assists with 58 assists for sixth in the conference. Rory Geer is first in the conference in offensive rebounds with 3.7 per game.Â
Defensively Josie Williams leads the team with 22 steals on the season. Hawley is second in the conference in blocks and blocks per game with two per game and 36 on the season, while adding 14 steals. Hawley leads the team with 9.9 rebounds per game followed by Rory Geer with 8.2 rebounds.Â
Harding is first in the conference in turnovers per game with 10 per game which is first in all of Division II. Harding is first in the conference in three-point percentage defense and first in rebounding.
