Lady Rangers Set For Trip to Arkadelphia

ALVA, OKLAHOMA - The Northwestern Oklahoma State Lady Rangers (6-6, 3-3 GAC) is on the road for a two game road trip in Arkadelphia. The trip begins with Ouachita Baptist (5-5, 1-5 GAC) at the Bill Vining Arena. Tip-off for the game has been moved to 3:00 PM due to the expected forecast in Arkadelphia.

Overall these two teams meet for the 23rd time in program history since 2013. The series history is even at 11 as these teams battle for the series lead. The Lady Rangers are 2-3 in the last five after splitting the series last year. In Arkadelphia the Tigers earned an 87-80 victory, and are 8-3 overall in Arkadelphia in the series.

Northwestern will look for the first road win of the season coming off Saturday's loss to Oklahoma Baptist. Kennedy High led the charge with 30 points in the game, her season high while adding five rebounds and two assists. In double figures as well was Payton Jones, and Kira Bass each with 12 points. 

The Rangers are led by Payton Jones at 15.1 points per game, one of three double figure scorers with Hight at 12.5 and Kira Bass with 10.2. Jones is seventh in the conference in points per game after scoring double figures in 11 of 12 games. Kira Bass is second in the conference in offensive rebounds per game at 3.4 followed by Camille Thomas at 3.0 for 5th. Carly Craig is 1st in the conference in three point percentage at 37.9%. Craig and Hight are each top five in assists in the conference.

Camille Thomas, Kira Bass, and Kennedy Hight each have eight blocks on the season for the team high. Thomas is the leader in steals with 25 on the season which ranks fourth in the conference. Thomas and Bass lead the team in rebounding with 6.3 and 6.1 per game.

The Lady Rangers defense is first in the conference in turnovers forced per game at 20.33 per game and second in turnover margin. Northwestern is the team conference leader in offensive rebounds per game at 15. 

OUACHITA BAPTIST TIGERS:

The Tigers are on a three game winning streak entering play on Thursday with wins over UA-Fort Smith, Williams Baptist, and Arkansas Tech. Overall the Tigers are 4-1 at home in Arkadelphia.

The last time out the Tigers won 73-57 over Arkansas Tech led by Madeleine Tipton with 22 points hitting three 3-pointers as one of three double figure scorers joined by Abbey Harrison and Audri Winfrey.

Madeleine Tipton is the team leader in points per game as the only player averaging double figures at 15.4 for sixth in the conference. Abbey Harrison is second on the team at 9.0 points per game. Tipton is third in the conference in three point field goal percentage, and leads the team in assists with 26 followed by Heidi Robinson with 25.  

On defense Ouachita Baptist is led by Laney Mears with 10 steals on the season followed by Brooke Smith with nine. Abbe Harrison has a team high 10 blocks and eight steals. Smith leads the team in rebounding with 7.1 per game.

Ouachita Baptist comes in with the number one ranked team in the conference in three point percentage at 39.4 as a team and is fifth in all of Division II. The Tigers are first in the conference in Defensive field goal percentage holding opponents to 36.5.

STAT OF THE GAME:

Lady Rangers in the Natural State are 54-81 vs schools from Arkansas since joining GAC & D2. On the road in Arkansas NWOSU is 17-49. Under Coach Diesselhorst Lady Rangers are 41-46 vs Arkansas schools & 13-29 on the road.
