ALVA, OKLAHOMA - The Northwestern Oklahoma State Soccer team fell in a tight defensive match 1-0 to Oauchita Baptist after a late second half goal.

The first half was a back and forth affair with both sides battling defensively. The Rangers had several good chances to put one in the net with 11 total first half shots, including a shot off the foot of Katy Jo Werner that missed just left of the goal.

The second half was identical to the first with both teams not giving anything up defensively. Ouachita was able to break the scoreless tie in the 82 minute with a goal from Madi Vana. The Rangers continued to battle, sending shots towards the Tigers keeper, but were un able to connect before time ran out.

Ranger keeper Taylor Annen had a solid game in net despite giving up a goal, recording four saves and keeping the Tigers off the board for 80 minutes. The Ranger backline also put in an outstanding effort limiting Ouachita's offense to 8 total shots in the match.

The Rangers will be in action again on Thursday October 15th when they host Southwestern.
