WEATHERFORD, Okla. — Northwestern Oklahoma State dropped a three-set decision to rival Southwestern on Thursday night, falling 20:25, 15:25, 13:25 in Great American Conference play.
The Rangers played a close first set with hopes of taking over the lead and they did after fighting for it at 15:14 but that didn't stop The Bulldogs to take over it again and win the first set 25:20. Northwestern struggled to find consistency in the second, hitting into a string of errors as The Bulldogs pulled away for a 25:15 win. In the third, the Rangers battled to stay close, but Southwestern used a decisive mid-set surge to finish the sweep 25:13.
De Zanet led the Rangers with seven kills and one ace, while
Ryann Eastes paced the offense with 17 assists. Defensively, Northwestern collected three total blocks and three service aces.
The Rangers will travel to Arkadelphia, Arkansas to face Henderson State next Thursday Oct. 9.
