ALVA, Okla. – Northwestern Oklahoma State volleyball team hosted East Central Tigers this Thursday evening in The Percefull Fieldhouse. The Rangers won the game in four sets 3-1.
The first set of the game started with The Tigers striking first. The Rangers fought hard and tied the set multiple times until they finally took over the lead at 9:8. But it didn't take long before The Tigers took over the lead again at 13:12 and The Rangers were not able to keep up and lost the first set by five points 20:25.
The Rangers started off the second set hot 6:1 making The Tigers call a timeout. The Tigers came out strong out of the timeout and tied the game at 7:7. But that didn't stop The Rangers to go on a 7:1 run and forcing The Tigers to call another time out. The Rangers pulled through and finished the set with a win 25:18 to tie the game 1-1.
Northwestern Rangers started off the third set with a three point run before East Central's first time out of the set. The Rangers led The Tigers for the rest of the set and even had a 13:2 run to win the set by 16 points 25:9. Northwestern was then in a 2-1 lead.
The start of the fourth set was a little bit more competitive as both teams battled back-to-back for points. Both teams were exchanging their leads until The Rangers started to pull of and gain a five-point lead at 12:7. After a hard fight The Rangers ended up winning by eight points 25:16 and winning the game 3-1.
The Rangers were led by 
Ivanny Blackwood with 13 kills, followed by 
Naya Danenburg with 10 kills and 15 digs. 
Mikayla White finished the game with 33 assists and 17 digs. 
Jadyn Padilla led the team in aces with two.
Northwestern volleyball team will be back in action Next Tuesday, Nov. 4 to face Southern Nazarene University at Bethany at 6 p.m.
