Rangers Score Two Late Goals in Comeback Win

HAYS, KANSAS - The Northwestern Oklahoma State women's soccer team defeated Fort Hays State on Sunday afternoon, 2-1. The victory gives the Rangers their first ever win over Fort Hays.

The Rangers trailed throughout most of the game, but two late goals in the final 10 minutes allowed the Rangers to escape with a win. The first Northwestern goal came in the 83rd minute, when Jazelle Alvarado found the back of the net to tie the game at 1-1. Three minutes later, Christi-Anne Mills fired a shot into the top left corner of the goal to give the Rangers the win.

The two goals are the most that the Rangers have ever scored in one game against Fort Hays.

The goals by Mills and Alvarado were two of the three shots on goal that the Rangers had on the afternoon. The other shot on goal came from Jordan Fawcett.
The Rangers only had six total shots throughout the game, while the Tigers had 19.

The Rangers will be back in action on September 12th, when they travel to Kearney, Nebraska to take on the University of Sioux Falls at 11:00 a.m.
