Rangers Draw Bison In Midweek Matchup

SHAWNEE, Okla. – The Northwestern Oklahoma State women's soccer team tied Oklahoma Baptist, 2-2, on Wednesday evening. The draw moves the Rangers to 7-3-2 on the season.

The Ranger offense got off to a blazing start, with Cambell Tabor bouncing the ball in off a corner kick from Emma Yosten to put the Rangers ahead 1-0 just six minutes into the game. The Rangers continued to fire off shots, as they fired off three more shots over the next ten minutes to keep the pressure on the Bisons. The Rangers continued to attack, and kept the 1-0 lead through the rest of the first half.

The Rangers picked up where they left off in the second half, as Tabor connected with Mylee Yuill on a cross that got blasted past the goalie to extend the Ranger lead to 2-0 just 53 seconds into the half. The Bison responded with a goal of their own just six minutes later to cut the Ranger lead down to one, and tied the game with another goal in the 68th minute. The Rangers and Bison battled for possession and momentum for the rest of the game, with the final score being a 2-2 draw.

The Bison outshot the Rangers, 14-12, including a 7-4 advantage in shots on goal. Yosten led the Rangers in shots with three, while four different Rangers had a shot on goal.

The Rangers will be back in action on Oct. 10, when they take on Southwestern at the Alva Recreation Complex at 11 a.m.
