BETHANY, Okla - The Northwestern Oklahoma State men's basketball team fell to Southern Nazarene 89-53 Saturday afternoon in the final game of the 2025-26 season.
The Rangers kept it close early and led 6-4 at the first media stoppage of the half. Their lead was short lived as the Crimson Storm grabbed momentum and took the lead shortly following the time out. Northwestern found itself down by as many as 11 midway through the half, before going on a 7-0 run midway through the half to cut it to a four point game. That's as close as it would get for the remainder of the half as Northwestern trailed 44-21 at the half.
Northwestern came out the intermission break with a little momentum as they out scored Southern Nazarene 7-5 in the opening minutes of the second half. The Rangers held tough throughout the first part of the second half as they traded baskets with the Crimson Storm but could not get momentum to fully swing their way. Northwestern found some light however, going on a run midway through the half to cut it to 20. That's as close as it would get as Southern Nazarene pulled away coming out of the under eight media stoppage to top Northwestern.
Northwestern was led by Chris Tippins who recorded a season best 18 points.
The Rangers finished the 2025-2026 campaign with an 11-17 overall record and an 8-14 conference record.
